Alrighty, welcome back once again to Junk Crafting. I ran into many of the same problems as last week. It's really difficult to get my hands on a railroad clamp, and I'm still trying to make a new process to make up for my lack of a drill press. I also had to work alot this week.
I did some more clean up of the wrench knife, but thats about it. Temperatures are going up so I'm going to take the opportunity to get alot done. Be sure to come back next week.
Welcome back everyone. This week was a bit of a struggle. The subzero temps and a materials issue really prevented me from getting much done. I did a little more cleanup, and started to cut up the wood I'll need to make my anvil. I still haven't been able to find the railroad clamp I need for my striking surface, so that'll be my focus.
I managed to get the pipes and hair dryer I needed to make my forge, but I need a good metal plate and a metal chair to finish it. I'm also having some problems with my lack of tools. I need a drill press, but I don' have access to one.

Hows it happening you junkies! Welcome back to Junk Crafting. I spent this first week on prep for the most part. I went to the junkyard and grabbed some miscellaneous items and things I found interesting. I also got some old broken tools from my dad. I'm hoping to re purpose one of the old wrenches and make a tool blade. I started out using an angle grinder to clean the tool, and remove some of the bits and pieces I didn't need. I'm going to try to get a butane torch so I can heat up the metal. I got some pieces of wood and scrap metal together, and I'm going to try to build myself a makeshift anvil. I've also been considering a steel chair/hairdryer coal forge. It's not an exact process, and just because something might not be going the way I originally plan, I can still go with that and make a cool craft. The YouTube videos I'm using are super helpful so far, and really user friendly.
I had to make sure I had a fire extinguisher nearby, because the already there fire hazards are only going to increase. Be sure to come back by next week, and I'll show off what I managed to get done! Thanks for tuning in, and remember to recycle.
